Group Music Classes

This fun, no-pressure group class breaks down the two big pillars of music—pitch and rhythm—from the ground up.

 

Whether you’re a total beginner or you already play pretty well but learned everything by ear and still feel lost when sheet music shows up—this is exactly where the light bulbs start switching on.

It’s completely hands-on and interactive: you’ll clap rhythms & patterns, write your own melodies, train your ears with listening games and more.

Pitch

You’ll discover what notes actually are and how we identify them by name, how to read them on the staff, and exactly how sheet music is organized so it stops feeling like a secret code. We’ll explore the difference between melody and harmony, dive into scales, chords, and range, and train your ears so you can start hearing—and recognizing—what’s really going on in the music you love.

 

Rhythm

You’ll learn what the beat is and how to feel it in your body, how music is measured with time signatures and tempo, and the building blocks of note values from whole notes down to sixteenths. We’ll cover how to tell even meters from odd ones (and why that changes the whole groove), plus how to read and count rhythms accurately so you never get lost again.
